DESCRIPTION:On Friday 28 November Pope Leo XIV and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will meet in Nicæa to mark the 1\,700th anniversary of the First Ecumenical Council. Our speakers\, Father Michael Lambros (Coptic Orthodox) and Paul Nizinskyj (Greek Catholic) explore the legacy of what was decided at Nicæa with regards to the nature of Christ and the date of Easter as well as what this historic meeting could mean for the ecumenical dialogue. \nSchedule:\n6.15pm — Divine Liturgy\n7.15pm — Talks and discussion\n8.30pm — Refreshments \nEntrance is free but a suggested donation of £10 will help us cover the cost of holding the event. \nPlease register your attendance\, either on the Facebook event page\, or by email to: contact@ssjc.uk.

SUMMARY:The Way of the East
DESCRIPTION:The Way of the East is a catechetical programme into the faith\, prayer and worship of Eastern Catholics. Whether you are new to the Christian faith or interested to know more about the path on which we walk\, this is a beautiful introduction to Christ The Way\, The Truth and our Life. \nThe sessions take place on the second Saturday of each month at the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Cathedral of the Holy Family\, Duke Street\, London\, W1K 5BQ\, from 1.30pm\, beginning with a bring-your-own picnic lunch (drinks provided)\, followed by talks\, guests\, films and discussions from 2pm. The Divine Liturgy in English is served from 4pm. \nYou do not need to have attended any of the previous sessions in order to join us — all are welcome!

DESCRIPTION:On Saturday 20th May we join our friends at Our Lady of the Assumption & Saint Gregory\, Warwick Street\, to offer the Akathist Hymn to the Mother of God for the enthronement of an icon of the Vladimir (Vyshhorod) Mother of God at the church.The celebration will be begin at 10.30am with a talk on Bishop Cheslau Sipovich (1914–1981)\, who blessed the icon\, and the Belarusian Greek Catholic Church to which he belonged. This will be followed by the Akathist Hymn at 11am\, concluding with a finger-food luncheon. All are most welcome!
