We offer warmest congratulations to our President on his appointment by Pope Francis to serve on the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, following his earlier appointment to the Sacred Congregation for the Eastern Catholic Churches. As the PCPCU is charged with dialogue with the Orthodox Church and the Oriental Orthodox Churches, this is significant and a welcome bringing together of two aspects of the Holy Father’s work in service of the unity of the Church.
Cardinal Nichols is also appointed to the Congregation for the Clergy, following his earlier appointment to the Congregation for Bishops. Eis polla eti Despota.
